For the last two weeks I have been wanting to write this letter to you, but you keep me so busy it has been hard to find the time to sit!
Brynners you are so special, there is a love and bond between us that is so strong, I marvel at the feelings holding you and just being with you brings me.
You recently have moved from the crib to a big girl bed, but you still like being rocked before I lay you in there. I ask you if you want me to sing and you usually say "no, uh-uh" but that is just your last fight to try and avoid falling asleep. I go through all our songs and you will say no to each of them. Then I try again and eventually you can't resist and will let me start singing one, then another, then another, and before long you're sound asleep. Then I begin to just watch you sleep and I can see that tiny newborn that was placed in my arms almost two years ago. I begin to understand the incredible human being that was/is stuffed inside this little body and I feel so much love and gratitude for you.
You are simply BRIGHT. A bright shining light. Hot and blinding. Warm and welcoming. You catch onto everything so quickly. You are a joy and wonder to behold.
You are really starting to talk now. This is the big transition taking place, the last of babyhood's grip is loosening, pretty soon you will a toddler with all the rights and privileges of sassy talk and funny words. Already you say, "Q's me" when you burp and fart!! It is seriously to die for funny! What little one year old knows that?!? I love your new talking, it always amazes us how well you communicate. When you do something you're proud of you'll say, "yay Brindee" (that's how you say your name!).
you can definitely say ice cream- "i ceam"
Yes you are darling. Your cute feathery white hair stands up a lot on the top of your head, but I can comb it now and yesterday I attempted curling the ends, which you were NOT a fan of- the iron pulled your hair and you were so sad! But man did you look adorable! Speaking of yesterday, YOU WENT INTO NURSERY FOR THE FIRST TIME!!! It has taken 3 months, of which you were NEVER left because you could barely be torn from me, I mean even when I was in there with you you just sat on my lap, barely ever leaving to play. Yesterday was the same and so we left and I was talking to a friend in the hall whose little girl you really really like, Ryah. Ryah went potty and was going in, to the "big" nursery where Baylor is, and I asked if you wanted to go with Ryah and Baylor and you said yes! I said, "Say bye-bye to Mama" just to make sure you understood THIS IS IT, and sure enough you said bye-bye and walked right in without a tear for the whole two hours!!!! HAPPY DAY!!! That is so totally YOU, everything has to be on your timetable and your way. I don't always love it, but sure do admire it!! You're strong and independent and just all round awesome!!
I think these pictures give you a hint at just HOW independent you are! I was REpainting the living room and you climbed up AND down the ladder so easy- even Baylor couldn't go back down!! You got it girl, and it's fabulous!!
